Updated news about Vikings FCE

We have fresh news about the Vikings Futsal Center of Excellence May/2010.

After starting our futsal training at Minas Tenis Clube and playing a friendly match against the home team, the Vikings´delegation had a week full of unforgettable experiences.

On Wednesday (12/05), the delegation had the opportunity to watch a game at Mineirão Stadium, the second biggest in Brazil and possible venue for the FIFA World Cup 2014 opening match. The game was Cruzeiro vs São Paulo, valid for the quarter-final of the Libertadores Cup, with an attendance of nearly 50 000 fans.

On the weekend the group went to Três Corações, hometown of the king of Football, Pelé. There the Vikings played a couple of games against local teams (inset some results here)and also visited the giant statue of the Great Pelé. The delegation also had the chance to visit São Lourenço, city known for its natural wonders and fountains of crystalline waters.

On Sunday the group returned to Belo Horizonte, and will be back to training at Minas this Monday.

Vikings Futsal Center of Excellence

Hey!

We are pleased to host again the Vikings Futsal Center of Excellence May/2010. We wish all the players and officials have a pleasant and comfortable stay in Brazil, getting the most from all services provided during the trip.
The delegation arrived at Rio de Janeiro´s Airport on the 7th of May 2010, and went straight to Teresópolis, city where it is located Granja Comary, the Official Training Center of Brazilian Football (CBF).

On the day after, the group had a chance to experience the atmosphere of Granja Comary, training at the same facilities utilized by the five times World Cup champions, such as Robinho, Kaka and Ronaldinho.
In Belo Horizonte since Sunday (09/05), players are training at Minas Tênis Clube, one of the most traditional futsal clubs in Brazil. Last Monday they played a friendly game against the home team.

The program FCE is organized by SMC through a partnership with Vikings Futsal Association.

Athletes from Australia arrive in Brazil

After a long journey between Australia and Brazil, the athletes of Australian Football Skool / Vikings Association arrived in Brazil last Friday.

The youngsters are taking part in the Football Center of Excellence, being integrated in the youth teams of our partners, Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro.

The programs Football and Futsal Center Excellence give since 1994 the opportunity for young australian football and futsal players to train at the biggest brazilian sports centers through a partnership with Vikings, which is the official agent for SMC and Gol Brasil in Australia.

Christopher Howell at Magnum School

The Australian exchange student Christopher Howell has been drawing much attention in his new home, the Magnum School, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
After a brief adaptation period, Chris has been attending classes in the morning and taking part in the futsal school team at night.
The youngster also attends to Portuguese classes in order to facilitate his development during the 4 months program.

Kieran Pates starts training program at Minas

The athlete Kieran Pates from Cairns, Australia, started his futsal training program at Minas Tênis Clube, one of the biggest olympics centers in South America.  Taking part into the SMC program Futsal Center of Excellence, the athlete has been integrated in the U17 squad for a period of two months.

After the fulfillment of some physical and physiotherapic tests, Kieran initiated his activities in the futsal court. He will have daily training sessions with the whole group besides the goalkeeper´s specific sessions twice a week.

The Vikings visited Toca da Raposa 2

SMC promoted last Wednesday afternoon a visit of Vikings to Toca da Raposa 2, official training center of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. The group had the opportunity to stroll along the training facilities of Cruzeiro, also having the chance to watch Cruzeiro´s first team training.

In Brazil since November 21st, the Vikings are taking part in the program Futsal Center of Excellence, having daily futsal training sessions at Minas Tenis Clube, in Belo Horizonte, and playing friendly matches against teams from Belo and Três Corações, hometown of the king of football, Pelé.
